After you pick your coffees and add them to your cart it's check out time. You click on the "View Cart" text link and there is your order. Clicking on the "Purchase for (dollar amount)" takes you to your shipping info page. After you fill that out you'll click on the "ENTER" button. The next page is:

The page is on our secure server and this is where you enter your credit card info.

You can see "https" and the closed padlock in Internet Explorer, or the unbroken key in Netscape, showing you that it is a secure site.

Now what do I do with your credit information?

A little background information:

We're one of those huge monolithic trans-national corporations you've read about. Our staff consists of three people. Me, my wife The Accountant Lady, and Nicky Beans, our roaster.

The Accountant Lady and I are the only people who have access to the computer we use for SuperBeans orders. When orders come in I run the credit numbers and then redirect the order (with the credit info edited out) to Nicky. He roasts and ships the coffee.

After I run the numbers and redirect the edited orders I back up the data to our database that lives on an external harddrive. I disconnect the external drive, and hide it from anyone who may break into our house and make off with our customers. I then erase the customer data from the computer. This way the info is safe from malignant JavaScripts or Active X controls that live on the net, break into your computer, steal customer data, leave dirty dishes in the sink, and drink all your beer.

The external drive is backed up weekly onto tape.
