"In my lifetime we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. If this is evolution, I believe within twelve years we'll be voting for plants."
- Lewis Black

If we detain people without hearings, wiretap our own citizens, and torture people on mere suspicions, the terrorists have won, because we have given up everything our country has stood for.

Um ... Looks like we have given up everything our country has stood for.

RESIST!

I’m not paranoid … I’ve Got Proof!

Hey Mike,

I’m not paranoid … I’ve Got Proof!

Isn’t that what all paranoids say?

Robert D. Hare is a researcher renowned in the field of criminal psychology. He is professor emeritus of the University of British Columbia where his studies centered on psychopathology and psychophysiology.

Writing about psychopaths Hare states that: "Lacking in conscience and empathy, they take what they want and do as they please, violating social norms and expectations without guilt or remorse. What is missing, in other words, are the very qualities that allow a human being to live in social harmony".

According to Hare, the consensus among researchers in this area is psychopathy stems from a specific neurological disorder which is biological in origin and present from birth.

I no longer use the term Corporatocracy since reading Political Ponerology, A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes by Andrew Lobaczewski. The correct term is obviously … Pathocracy.

Our ruling elite … the leaders and policy makers in our government, the media, the military, and in Wall Street and Corporate boardrooms are, as Robert Hare described, "intraspecies predators".

Psychopaths.

It’s the kind of realization that made me want to run shouting through the streets like Kevin McCarthy at the end of the 1956 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Look! You're in danger! Can't you see? They're after you! They're after all of us! Our wives, our children, everyone! They're here already! You're next! You're next! You're next!

Though the observation is correct … it wouldn’t do a whole lot of good to go berserk in public until the cops showed up to beat me into a peaceful dreamlike state. It’s better to take H.A.L.’s advice from 2001, “I can tell from the tone of your voice, Dave, that you're upset. Why don't you take a stress pill and get some rest.

But after a refreshing lie down after munching on some flavor of Benzodiazapine, the uncomfortable fact remains: The people in charge, the people who make the rules and call the shots, the people in control of our planet’s destiny, the people with The Big Guns, are seriously insane. And it’s not just some sort of whimsical insanity we’re talking about here. This isn’t about a bunch of bulgy eyed, sweat glazed loonies babbling about alien bases on the moon.

These people gain satisfaction through antisocial behavior. They have neither empathy nor conscience. They do not experience shame, guilt, or remorse. They can plan the deaths of thousands after breakfast without spoiling their appetite for lunch. They dominate our society and have forced us all to accept their terms.

The proof is simple. Any statement, any policy, any action by our institutional leaders devoid of empathy or conscience is evidence of a psychopath at work.

Who else but a psychopath would describe blowing innocent women and children into a bloody mist as collateral damage? Who else but a group of psychopaths would dole out $12.3 trillion in our taxpayer money to the richest people in the world, while in this country a home goes into foreclosure every seven seconds? Only psychopaths are capable of lying our country into illegal wars so they can reap billions by causing the deaths of millions.

Only a psychopath like Kate O'Beirne, the Washington editor of National Review, while speaking to Republican leaders, could accuse struggling parents of criminal negligence because they need a school breakfast program to help feed their children … then turn around and advocate for continuing tax breaks for the richest Americans.

Many times we’ve all thought after reading or hearing the latest Republican tirade, “These people are shameless.

We were right. They are incapable of that emotion or other “ … qualities that allow a human being to live in social harmony". They’re psychopaths. And as soon as we completely understand on a cellular level that we’re dealing with “intraspecies predators" the better chances we have of escaping the slaughterhouse.

Mainstream Media is no help. Their job is to distract us.

Auto da fe (Act of Faith) was the ritual execution of heretics by the Inquisition after a confession had been extracted. As the condemned were led to where they would be burned to death, a painting of a pleasant scene would be held in front of them filling their field of view so they couldn’t see the awaiting stake.

The primary function of Brian Williams, Wolf Blitzer, Brit Hume, Katie Couric, and the rest of the haircuts on the nightly news (they’re either psychopaths or don’t mind getting paychecks from psychopaths) is to describe the pleasant painting to us as we make our way to the awaiting pyre. The rest of the time they join in with the gasbags on FOX to scare the crap out of us so we’re all terrified of what might happen on the day before tomorrow.

If we’re too stupid and scared to know what’s going on, Right Now! … while we're living through it, we won’t recognize the psychopaths among us nor understand that capitalism is their method of oppression.

Malcolm X was a Very Scary Black Man who terrified White America because he told the truth:

The press is so powerful in its image-making role, it can make a criminal look like he’s the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal. … If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.

You show me a capitalist, and I'll show you a bloodsucker.

"How can you thank a man for giving you what's already yours? How then can you thank him for giving you only part of what is yours?"

"The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses."

"You get your freedom by letting your enemy know that you'll do anything to get it. Then you'll get it. It's the only way you'll get it."

"If you're not ready to die for it, take the word 'freedom' out of your vocabulary."

Oh hell … the Benzodiazapine’s wearing off …

You're in danger! Can't you see? They're after you! They're after all of us! Our wives, our children, everyone! They're here already! You're next! You're next! You're next!

Regards,

Bob

My Favorite(?) Excerpt

The discrepancy between the kind of society many Germans thought they were building and the reality of the horror of the Third Reich presents one of the most intriguing questions of our age. How could Fascism -- have happened in a modern, industrialized, educated nation?

Books I Give To People I Know and Maybe They'll Still Talk To Me
But Probably Won't

Deep Green Resistance - Strategy to Save the Planet
Aric McBay, Lierre Keith, and Derrick Jensen

For years, Derrick Jensen has asked his audiences, “Do you think this culture will undergo a voluntary transformation to a sane and sustainable way of life?” No one ever says yes.

Deep Green Resistance starts where the environmental movement leaves off: industrial civilization is incompatible with life. Technology can’t fix it, and shopping—no matter how green—won’t stop it. To save this planet, we need a serious resistance movement that can bring down the industrial economy. Deep Green Resistance evaluates strategic options for resistance, from nonviolence to guerrilla warfare, and the conditions required for those options to be successful.

The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder
by Vincent Bugliosi

"I hope that at some time in the near future a courageous U.S. attorney general, U.S. attorney, state attorney general, or district attorney in America who is committed to the rule of law and who has dedicated his career to enforcing the law fairly against all who, big or small, violate it, will hear the cries for justice from the graves of the thousands upon thousands of men, women, and children who had their lives violently cut short because of the lies of a man who smiled through it all. And that, with a sense of uncompromising righteousness, he will take the ample case I have laid out in this book before an American jury to let them decide whether George W Bush is guilty or not guilty of murder, and if so, what his punishment should be.

Even if this doesn't happen and what I have said in this book receives all the attention of a new fly in the forest, I do know that someone had to say what is written on the pages of this book."

Family of Secrets: The Bush Dynasty, the Powerful Forces That Put It in the White House, and What Their Influence Means for America
by Russ Baker

How did Bush happen? How did George W. Bush, of all people, rise to the most powerful position in the world? This simple question sparked a five-year investigative odyssey by Russ Baker. What he found will force us to rethink virtually everything we thought we knew about the Bush family and its role in shaping recent American history.

In FAMILY OF SECRETS, Baker reveals that Bush, the people around him, and his policies are but an extreme, very public manifestation of what his family and its circle have always been about: an interlocking web of covert and overt machinations on behalf of a small cluster of elites-social, financial, industrial, military, intelligence-that enabled the Bush dynasty and propelled George W. Bush to the top.

Rules for Radicals
by Saul D Alinsky

"What follows is for those who want to change the world from what it is to what they believe it should be. The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away."

In 1971, Saul Alinsky wrote an entertaining classic on grassroots organizing titled Rules for Radicals. For Alinsky, organizing is the process of highlighting what is wrong and convincing people they can actually do something about it.

The End of America: Letter of Warning To A Young Patriot
by Naomi Wolf

In a stunning indictment of the Bush administration and Congress, best-selling author Naomi Wolf lays out her case for saving American democracy. In authoritative research and documentation Wolf explains how events of the last six years parallel steps taken in the early years of the 20th century’s worst dictatorships such as Germany, Russia, China, and Chile.

The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism
by Naomi Klein

Naomi Klein's The Shock Doctrine advances a truly unnerving argument: historically, while people were reeling from natural disasters, wars and economic upheavals, savvy politicians and industry leaders nefariously implemented policies that would never have passed during less muddled times. As Klein demonstrates, this reprehensible game of bait-and-switch isn't just some relic from the bad old days. It's alive and well in contemporary society, and coming soon to a disaster area near you. --Kim Hughes
